My 9 Somethings for July

Hey friends!

I survived my first writer’s conference and my first kidnapping! 😀 Isn’t that exciting?

Welcome to my nine Somethings for July.

Something on Fire

Every July we host a party near the Fourth. We use this party as an excuse to blow up stuff.

Why?

Because it’s fun and we are ‘mericans.

I dragged my camera out during the party to snap some pics of all the pretty, burning objects.

Something Familiar

I dyed my hair once again and enjoyed all the confusion I inflicted upon my poor fellow humans who had a hard time recognizing me. You’ll notice the change in the pictures below so I won’t bother with one now.

Something Legendary

Now we’re getting to the good stuff.

I attended my first writer’s conference EVER, and boy, it was worth the money. Continue reading “My 9 Somethings for July”

My Ten Somethings for June

Hey friends!

Sorry this took so long. I was kidnapped and held against my will. More on that next week.

Welcome to my Somethings for June!

Something Old

One of my dear friends graduated last month. *wipes away tear* She’s getting old, I’m getting old, we’re all getting old! LIFE IS CAREENING TOWARD THE END!

I’m fine. I promise.

Anyway, congrats to her. 🙂 She’s going to do great at adult life.

Something Related to Writing

I finished Rook, so that’s good.

Edward was lazy and claimed he was too busy taking over the world to write a blog post for my tiny site. I told him I’d throw him off a cliff or make a snake bite him in a story.

He wants to sue me for blackmail.

Anyhow, I did not finish brainstorming and outlining Ridgeline, but I’m having tons of fun all the same. I know I promised this before, but I really will get a Ridgeline page up sometime.

In between maintaining my new website, working on Rook and Ridgeline, and recovering from Realm Makers.

Ha.

One a final note: I published a short story on Story Embers! Steady is about an immortal spirit guide and her troublesome charge. I’m pretty proud of it, even though it gave me a bit of trouble. Continue reading “My Ten Somethings for June”

My 9 Somethings for May

Have you ever had a bird laugh at you?

I swear the other morning a bird was cackling at me while I wrote. It was rude.

Anyhow. Not relevant.

I lived another month! Isn’t that fantastic?

Something Painful

I have a lot of random hobbies I’ve picked up throughout the years (claymation, flag dancing, horse riding, sketching, piano). Some hobbies last. Most don’t.

Wood carving was one that didn’t last too long. However, last month I got the urge to pick up my wood carving tools again.

I was in the process of hollowing out a little canoe with one of my gouges when I decided to discard the age-old advice associated with knife-wielders. In other words, I decided to carve toward my hand instead of away from it. Continue reading “My 9 Somethings for May”

My Somethings for March

Hey friends!

I hope Edward’s invasion last week didn’t throw you off. 😉 To get back to some sense of normality, here are my Somethings for March!

Something Bittersweet/Exciting

See that little badge? It has a long, bittersweet story.

Near the end of February, I learned that Kingdom Pen’s editor and chief, Josiah DeGraaf, was wishing the site farewell.

Ugg. That…that was not expected. It threw the writing team for a loop. Until that announcement, I didn’t realize how much KP’s fantastic leader affected the site and the writing team’s work. Continue reading “My Somethings for March”
