I’m Changing Just About Everything

*peaks out from under layers of Google documents* Hey friends! I come to you with an update.

I’ve decided to redesign my site and switch to a paid hosting service! *throws confetti* I’m also renaming and repurposing the blog to focus on writing, story prompts, and other fiction related stuff so I have a nitch to work inside of. If everything goes as planned, I’ll relaunch my site in early December.

Thanks for your patience, guys! I look forward to sharing the new site with you. 🙂

Farewell for Now

Hey guys!

I know the title may have panicked you a little, but don’t worry. I’m not giving up blogging permanently.

Just for a little while.

I have important blogging-related decisions I need to make and changes I must research. Though I love posting each week, it takes up a bunch of time that I need to organize and learn.

That said, I won’t post again until the second or third week of November.

I’m going to miss you all. You guys have shown me such amazing support, and I appreciate it so much! I hope that this break will improve my blogging abilities so I can bring you guys even better stuff.

Thank you for understanding, and I hope you have an amazing October. 🙂

Announcing Rooftop Writing Prompts (and Free Stuff)

I come to you with an important announcement. Drumroll, please.

*holds breath*

I started another website! 😀

Remember those writing prompts I told you about in my last Somethings? Well, apparently posting a few on my blog wasn’t enough for me

I created another website so I could obsess over this new idea. I call it, “Rooftop Writing Prompts.”

Why call it Rooftop Writing Prompts? First of all, I needed a cool name. Adding “rooftop” to anything makes it sound cool. Just try it.

The rooftop has also been one of my favorite writing spots. I’ve chilled up there writing anything from a book to an article to a blog post. I want it to become a symbol of creativity and inspiration.

To learn more about my new website, click here.

or here.

or here.

They all lead to the same place. I’m just a little excited, so you get more than one link. 😛

But that’s not all I’m excited about. To celebrate this new website, I’m giving out a free book of writing prompts to anyone and everyone who signs up for my mailing list!

*throws confetti* I put a lot of brainpower into this one, my friends. These prompts are just waiting for someone to turn them into a fabulous story. All you have to do is sign up here and the collection is all yours.

Enjoy your weekend!

My 9 Somethings for May

Have you ever had a bird laugh at you?

I swear the other morning a bird was cackling at me while I wrote. It was rude.

Anyhow. Not relevant.

I lived another month! Isn’t that fantastic?

Something Painful

I have a lot of random hobbies I’ve picked up throughout the years (claymation, flag dancing, horse riding, sketching, piano). Some hobbies last. Most don’t.

Wood carving was one that didn’t last too long. However, last month I got the urge to pick up my wood carving tools again.

I was in the process of hollowing out a little canoe with one of my gouges when I decided to discard the age-old advice associated with knife-wielders. In other words, I decided to carve toward my hand instead of away from it. Continue reading “My 9 Somethings for May”

My Somethings for March

Hey friends!

I hope Edward’s invasion last week didn’t throw you off. 😉 To get back to some sense of normality, here are my Somethings for March!

Something Bittersweet/Exciting

See that little badge? It has a long, bittersweet story.

Near the end of February, I learned that Kingdom Pen’s editor and chief, Josiah DeGraaf, was wishing the site farewell.

Ugg. That…that was not expected. It threw the writing team for a loop. Until that announcement, I didn’t realize how much KP’s fantastic leader affected the site and the writing team’s work. Continue reading “My Somethings for March”
